Adding COM1 printers

Make sure you have samba-client installed.

If you haven't done so, you can do so using the graphical Add/Remove Software, or type 'yum install samba-client' in the terminal.

Download a free copy of Lexmark T642 printer's driver from The Linux Foundation website:

Scroll down the page to look for Lexmark T642, and download a copy of the driver with this filename:

    Lexmark-T642-Postscript.ppd

Save this driver in your home directory. Actually it doesn't really matter where this file is stored, as long as it is kept safe somewhere.

    /home/username/

The official Lexmark T642 website does provide drivers for downloads. But apparently, at the time of writing this guide, the T642 printer driver is not available for Fedora 9 users. You may still wish to check out their official site here, just in case they decide to be nice to people:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/en/us/index.html
