Experimental Services

This information is now obsolete.

Here are some experimental services currently run by SoC network team. We do intend to turn these into production services in the near future, but for now, please do not depend on their availability.

PGP Keyserver

We are operating a PGP keyserver at pgpkeys.comp.nus.edu.sg. Compatible clients, such as GnuPG, can retrieve PGP keys from this keyserver. For example:

gpg --keyserver pgpkeys.comp.nus.edu.sg --recv-key 68A9D672

will retrieve Lai Zit Seng's PGP public key.

We intend to have this keyserver collect and make available PGP public keys of SoC users. At this time, we don't quite have that many keys. Please submit your PGP public key here.

LDAP Server

This is a directory service that provides a "people directory" much like the current staff command in our central UNIX servers, but includes information on all SoC UNIX account users. This service has been running for some time and is working quite well.

To use, point your LDAP client (Netscape Address Book, etc) to the server ldap.comp.nus.edu.sg. You will also have to add the Server Root or Base DN: dc=comp, dc=nus, dc=edu, dc=sg.

IRC Server

We have an experimental IRC service running at irc.comp.nus.edu.sg to support localized online conferencing requirements.
